Our Mission

The mission of the Weipa Running Festival is to deliver a family-friendly community event with a strong focus on:

  • The benefits of physical activity
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Showcasing Weipa to the national running community

At a time when both mental and physical health deserve greater prioritization, we aim to offer a challenge that encourages positive, active habits—long after race day is over.

The Weipa Running Festival is a not-for-profit organisation, run by a small but passionate team of volunteers. Each year, the event continues to grow in strength and reputation as a high-quality, unique running experience, and we are incredibly proud of what our community has built together.
